Country houses and land for sale in La Romana, inland Costa Blanca

La Romana is a small village in the Vinalopó valley, inland from Alicante, surrounded by vineyards, almond groves and low hills. People don't come here for the beach – they come for space, quiet skies and genuine village life, while the coast is still under an hour away. It suits buyers looking for a country house with land, a renovation project or a plot for a vegetable garden at prices that have largely disappeared on the coast. CasaAqui lists plots and homes in La Romana and guides you through the whole purchase, from your NIE to the notary.

La Romana lies in the Medio Vinalopó district, between Novelda, Aspe, Monóvar and Pinoso, where the Alicante lowlands start to rise towards the interior. The landscape is a patchwork of vines, olive and almond trees, rocky hills and farm tracks that are perfect for walking or cycling. This is wine country: the Vinalopó belongs to the DO Alicante appellation, with the Monastrell grape at its heart, and the area is also known for its marble quarries.

The climate is inland Mediterranean – dry, bright and sunny for most of the year. Summer days are hot, but nights are noticeably cooler than on the coast, and winters are crisper, with the occasional frost. Many buyers like exactly that: real seasons and clean air without giving up the sunshine.

Getting here is easy for a rural area. Alicante-Elche Airport (ALC) is roughly 35–45 minutes by car, and Región de Murcia International Airport (RMU) at Corvera a little over an hour. The beaches of Alicante, Santa Pola or Guardamar are about 45–60 minutes away, while Novelda and Elda, with supermarkets and services, are just a short drive.

La Romana works well for remote workers who want room to breathe, for those planning a rural second home, and for anyone happy to renovate. Our listings here are mostly rustic plots and country houses: land starts from a few tens of thousands of euros, the median asking price is around €80,000, and the most complete properties with land approach €400,000. With rustic land, always check with the town hall what can be built or legalised before you commit.

CasaAqui helps with your NIE, Spanish bank account, notary appointment and translations, so you can buy with confidence even if you live abroad.
