Lo Pagan belongs to the municipality of San Pedro del Pinatar, the northernmost town on the shores of the Mar Menor and very close to the border with Alicante province. It looks out over the largest saltwater lagoon in Spain, with La Manga on the horizon. The beaches here are sandy, with calm, shallow water, which makes them especially comfortable for families with young children and older swimmers.
The big natural highlight is the Salinas y Arenales de San Pedro del Pinatar Regional Park. It combines working salt pans, where flamingos are a common sight, with dunes, pine woods and beaches facing the open Mediterranean. Beside the salt ponds are the well-known Lo Pagan mud baths, where visitors coat themselves in mud following a long local tradition. The Mar Menor promenade is great for walking and cycling.
The climate is one of the driest and sunniest in mainland Spain: mild winters, very few rainy days and hot summers. Transport links are excellent. Región de Murcia airport (RMU, Corvera) is roughly 30–35 minutes away by motorway and Alicante-Elche airport (ALC) about 50 minutes. Murcia city and Cartagena are around 40–45 minutes away, and Torrevieja just over 20.
